I have been looking at a TON of art in the last couple of weeks by artists that are also piercing the veil of “painting” by incorporating sculptural elements and techniques. This is what I was talking about in an earlier post: “... taking an existing image of mine and blowing it apart into a sculptural installation that could be viewed, in one way (from a certain vista) as a two dimensional panel but in actuality, be an environment that a viewer can walk into and observe from multiple angles; from within ...”
Essentially, through clever use of perspective, perception and geometry, I will be taking three dimensional objects and painting them (and the space in which they are placed), and create the illusion of a two dimensional, graphic depiction. And vice-versa.
Mwahahaha.
